FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
The resource in the position will be responsible for overseeing and controlling the financial activities of the company's portfolio of subsidiaries. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in controlling within the logistics industry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead and develop a finance team.
A ) Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis
* Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for a portfolio of subsidiaries.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
* Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting
* Lead the annual budgeting process for a portfolio of subsidiaries.
* Prepare and review forecasts and variance analysis.
* Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
Financial Controls and Compliance
* Develop and maintain a robust internal control environment.
* Ensure compliance with local, national, and international financial regulations.
* Conduct regular audits and implement recommendations for improvement.
* Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
B) Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or CPA/CFA is preferred.
* Proven experience as a Controller or similar finance role, ideally within the logistics or project logistics industry.
* In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
* Experience in managing financial consolidations and working with multiple multicultural environments.
C) Skills and Competencies
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
* High attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
D) Experience
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a controlling role.
* Experience in the logistics or project logistics industry is highly desirable.
* Proven track record of implementing financial controls and improving financial performance.
E) Additional Requirements
* Willingness to travel to subsidiaries locations as needed.
* French language is a plus.
