Job Description
In the frame of Thales Alenia Space Rome AIT Center, we are looking for an Engineer to take a role in designing and verifying Space Systems Tests and Platform Test Engineer. The requested profile is for engineers in Electronic, Telecommunication, or equivalent fields.
* Execute tests on RF and Microwaves subsystems and systems.
* Execute Platform tests (if applicable).
* Analyze, model, and simulate Payload test benches functions and performances.
* Define validation methods and accuracy of tests.
* Develop AIT Test Software and Procedures.
* Use and tune main AIT software tools (ECHO, E-SCS2, LMO, James, etc.).
* Supervise test campaigns and analyze results.
* Prepare test reports and trend analysis.
* Be available to work in double or triple shifts.
* Be available to work during bank holiday seasons.
* Be available to work on weekends.
* Be prepared to work abroad for long periods.
Requirements
* Masters degree in Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
* Knowledge/experience in EPS/AVS subsystems tests (a plus).
* Knowledge/experience in RF tests including EMC Test campaign (a plus).
* Knowledge of main protocol/standards (CCSDS, ITU, ECSS, PUS, etc.).
* Knowledge of ESA technical standards (ECSS-E-ST-20-07C, ECSS-E-ST-50-05C, ECSS-E-ST-50-02C, etc.).
* Technical experience in writing/understanding Payload Test Requirements of a Satellite.
* Technical experience in technical procurement on Payload units.
* Technical experience in test execution at Payload level or Spacecraft level.
* Knowledge of MATLAB, C++, Python, Java, Linux (a plus).
* Knowledge of operating principles on Telecommunication Sub-systems.
* Knowledge and experience in measurement instrumentations (Oscilloscope, Power Meter, Spectrum Analyzer, etc.).
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work autonomously.
* Team working attitude.
* Good knowledge of English in writing and speaking.
