About the Role
The Key Account Manager reports to the Managing Director Italy and takes charge of portfolio development of existing customers, business development to identifying and secure new clients and scoring new business. Additionally to the Key Account Manager Role, this role will act as a Sales Manager Europe, reporting to the Group CEO and managing the European sales team to meet the business targets.
* Develop and Execute Sales Strategies, monitor KPI’s and ensure alignment with client goals
* Client Engagement: establish and maintain strategic alliances and build customer intimacy
* Identify and secure new business opportunities
* Sales Leadership: To provide sales leadership in the Europe Region, develop, guide and support sales team, track and report key metrics
Responsibilities Key Account Manager
* analyses with the management the profitability status of the products and identifies the best commercial strategy to expand the business (sales and margins) and to develop sales quotas
* uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets
* identifies and analyses customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts
* consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs
* work with purchasing and suppliers to develop new customer opportunities
* stays updated on industry trends, market conditions and competitor activities to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
* resolves customer complaints and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations
* is the main contact with customers for technical-commercial aspects:
* defines the commercial plan
* discusses new opportunities and exchanges information about them
* searches for new potential customers
* prepares the economic offers, based on appropriate Engineering and Manufacturing assessments, and, with Management’s approval, presents them to the customer
* receives the technical-commercial requirements relating to new projects or project modifications and communicates them within the organization
* prepares the issuing of internal orders for the start of new orders or new modifications
* supports the various internal functions in the management of problems with commercial implications
* ensures compliance with the procedures in the area of his/her competence and proposes, in the face of any new needs, changes to the existing procedures or the issuing of new procedures
Responsibilities European Sales Manager (additional)
* conducts market research to identify new business opportunities and to achieve the company’s commercial objectives and to propose improvement actions
* provides leadership to the sales team, motivates and encourages sales team to ensure quotas are met
* coordinates the sales network / customer interface
* prepares sales budget, monitors and approves expenses
* reviews and analyses sales and operational records and reports
Qualifications
* Technical background / Engineering Degree is evident to understand the Tier 2 process (must have qualification)
* International business experience
* 15 years of commercial experience in the automotive industry with a deep understanding of the automotive supply chain, ideally tier-2 experience
* Several years of management experience at management level, ideally in a matrix organization
* Fluent in English (spoken and written), Italian and German is helpful
Required Skills
* Exceptional drive to meet and exceed sales targets through strategic prospecting and closing
* Goal oriented, with strong organizational skills to manage a remote team efficiently
