Description
We are looking for a self-motivated Support Developer with a Ruby background. You will be part of an Engineering team that delivers branded communities for our healthcare clients and supports our internal application support needs.
Responsibilities
1. Support our Client Success Team as they serve our clients all over the world
2. Work with our designers to deliver branded online communities for our clients, and maintain them over time
3. Troubleshoot issues in our production environment, escalating to the on-call Engineer as needed
4. Support Engineering team with code reviews and collaboration
5. Generate ad hoc and regularly requested activity reports for clients
6. Run reports and scripts using our MySQL database
7. Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement
8. Respond to tickets in a timely and professional manner
9. Support our US designers by creating assets from provided mocks
10. Support our QA team by assisting to diagnose errors in the staging environment
11. Help develop internal tools for manipulating data
12. Understand requests and how they translate in application features
13. Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
14. Write high quality source code to program complete requests
15. Troubleshoot and debug applications
16. Conduct peer demo testing
17. Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
Requirements
1. At least three (3) years of development experience
2. At least three (3) years in a support role
3. Strong SCSS/CSS, Javascript, and HTML skills
4. Strong SQL experience (database is MySQL)
5. Able to work flexible hours, long-term you may be supporting clients internationally (Hours will be 5am - 1pm EST)
Preferred Skills:
1. Liquid template experience
2. Full-stack and/or Ruby on Rails experience
3. Experience with asset/logo creation is a plus
4. Experience in designing and building applications
5. Ability to program in at least one programming language such as C#, Java (J2EE) etc.
6. In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools
7. Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
