The Material Handler is responsible for transporting products, packaging, and raw materials to and from production lines, packaging areas, and trailers utilizing a stand-up forklift. Organizes packaging and return areas, loads or unloads trailers.
Ways you will make a difference
1. Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
2. Completes forklift driver’s daily checklist form.
3. Replenishes fluids and generates maintenance work request forms for repairs needed.
4. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
5. Picks and stages packaging and supplies at work sites.
6. Receives materials from production by verifying and identifying information and quantity of materials, placing materials in inventory.
7. Loads and unloads trailers.
8. Verifies case/pallet counts and patterns.
9. Reports any discrepancies to the floor and/or the department supervisor.
10. Knowledgeable of all Material Handler duties and responsibilities.
11. Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to BBPC safety methods.
12. Adheres to all BBPC established GMP’s.
13. Assists in inventory reconciliation process.
14. Maintains a clean and neat work area at all times.
15. Maintains inventory control system by tracking, moving, and shipping the product using SAP system and/or Excel spreadsheet.
16. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to managers.
Skills that will make you successful
1. Ability to speak, write and read English.
2. Ability to work overtime as needed.
3. Ability to work with minimum supervision.
4. Able to lift up to 60 lbs.
5. Must be able to operate a stretch-wrapper.
6. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
7. Promote teamwork, possess a good attitude, and exhibit flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as needed.
Experiences that will support your success
Ability to operate a reach truck, standup forklift, and hand jack. Minimum of 1 year experience.
