Patient Assessment
Conduct thorough and rapid physical exams, medical history assessments, and diagnostic tests to identify the root cause of symptoms and determine appropriate treatment.
Life-Saving Interventions
Administer emergency interventions, including intubation, CPR, IV fluid resuscitation, and wound care. Provide advanced life support in cases of critical illness or injury.
Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams
Work in close coordination with nurses, paramedics, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
Stabilization and Triage
Prioritize patient care using triage protocols to determine the urgency of treatment based on the severity of medical conditions.
Patient Documentation
Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and treatments in electronic medical records (EMR) systems to ensure proper medical documentation.
Patient Education
Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care upon discharge.
Critical Decision-Making
Make critical decisions quickly and effectively under pressure, often in life-or-death situations, while ensuring quality care and patient safety.
Adherence to Standards
Maintain compliance with medical standards, hospital protocols, and safety regulations to ensure high-quality emergency care.
Continuous Learning and Training
Stay updated with the latest developments in emergency medicine and participate in ongoing professional development activities and certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, ATLS).
