Renishaw Spa is the Italian subsidiary that markets and supports all Renishaw products in Italy and abroad: following a growth of operations of the group and its associates in the position and motion control sector, we are looking for a new teammate to join us as an Encoder Technical Sales Engineer, based in Italy.
The role
The position requires providing a high standard of pre-sale and post-sale, application and commercial support to Renishaw Encoders customers and partners. Moreover, significant parts of the job will be working with potential customers to ‘design in’ Renishaw’s range of encoder products.
This opportunity suits someone able to demonstrate a high level of technical capability, required in the sales process for this key product type in a B2B environment, with a relatively long pre-sales cycle. Tenacity and perseverance are key to support customers in the adoption of our advanced technology.
Main responsibilities
1. Help users and prospects in their adoption of Renishaw Encoders
2. Provide and discuss quotations and cost estimates
3. Provide application and design training to Customers and Partners
4. Identifying and developing strategies for long term key projects to achieve sales and growth targets
5. Develop destination markets by scouting for applications and developing relationships
6. Participating in exhibitions and trade events
7. Maintaining CRM to a level which supports accurate and reliable forecasting and pipeline management
8. Ensure appropriate and regular own product training is maintained
Key requirements
1. Scientific or engineering University or technical high school degree
2. A background in electronics, mechatronics, and/or sensors
3. Minimum of 2 years of commercial experience of direct sales or technical support
4. Fluent Italian and English (spoken and written)
5. Frequent travel in Italy and occasionally abroad is expected
6. Customer-oriented attitude
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. IT literacy
9. Category B driving license

The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with teams and will possess excellent collaboration skills; results-oriented, self-motivated and well organized; methodical and systematic approach to problem solving. Flexible and open-minded and used to working in changing environments with the ability to maintain a good and collaborative work environment are the key for the role.
