Manpower ricerca un/una Scientist Method Development:
Purpose of the job:
As a Scientist Method Development, you will use your scientific/engineering knowledge to develop/validate/verify analytical testing methods using appropriate analytical technologies such as Gas / Liquid / Ion Chromatography (GC, GC-MS, LC/MS-MS, IC), or other new advanced analytical technologies. You will conduct research, development, and project activities of moderate scope and medium to high complexity which may be a portion of a broader project. This also includes the development, validation and implementation of new analytical methodologies in order to support the development of new Smoke Free Products (SFPs), or the verification of the current testing method portfolio applicability to new SFPs under development. You will be asked to apply problem-solving techniques to facilitate improvements of methodologies, processes, products, systems, facilities, and/or equipment. You will also participate in the development of project schedules, estimates test plans, and makes recommendations for technical alternatives.
More specifically, you'll
Develop and validate testing methodologies according to internal standards. Ensure laboratory staff carries out testing protocols as defined in the related validation protocols and report the results in appropriate validation/development reports
Verify the applicability of the existing testing method portfolio for testing new SFPs under development/commercial launch, to ensure testing method readiness to support critical project phases
Contribute to the development of project scope, schedule & estimates, and follow the execution of activities according to the project plan, including deadlines and resource requirements. Inform about any deviation from initial planning and update it in agreement with main stakeholders (e.g. analytical laboratories, product designers etc.)
Advise as technical subject expert and provide scientific expertise and guidance to Testing Laboratories in the context of technical issues and/or revision of existing methodologies (analytical testing troubleshooting)
Perform duties in accordance with PMI procedures, standards (ISO 17025) and relevant regulations when applicable.
Who we’re looking for
University degree in Chemistry (Master, PhD or equivalent)
Good knowledge of analytical techniques based on GC-FID, GC-MS, IC and LC-MSMS and track-record experience in developing and validating testing methods based on such technologies
Analytical laboratory experience in the testing of tobacco/nicotine containing products and their aerosols is a plus
Previous exposure in laboratory accredited environment (ISO 17025)
Experience in quality systems and laboratory database management (LIMS)
Project management experience
Strong creativity and problem-solving capabilities, combined with efficient communication and sound leadership skills such as negotiation and timely decision-making
Demonstrated capacity to work in an interdisciplinary environment with a customer-oriented mindset
Fluent English is a must
