Position Summary Reporting to the Sr. Director, Sales, the Account Manager position is an opportunity for a passionate and driven technical sales professional with a true hunter mentality who can develop relationships with key decision makers in the rigid packaging industry, with an emphasis on bottles and child resistant closures. The candidate must have the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities, as well as possessing existing industry relationships. Alltrista is focused on quality and service while offering new and existing customers innovative solutions driven by creativity, technology, and material science for the Medical, Pharmaceutical, Consumer Healthcare, Personal & Home Care, Food & Beverage, and other markets. Primary Functions New Business Growth Own, develop, and execute product vision, strategy, and road map for specific business development projects. Acquire new target customers that utilize our closures industry. Proactively generate leads to qualify and convert into new business opportunities. Grow multi contact organizational relationships with new and (when assigned) existing customers through face-to-face meetings and phone calls. Engage in the development of the proposal, deliver the proposal, and close deals. Participate in onboarding the new customer -product and liaise with customer as appropriate. Must be able to discuss and address project and business-related issues with customers in a direct and nonconfrontational manner to drive timely resolution. Partner with Procurement to ensure supplier relationships yield competitive cost, terms and conditions, and assurance of supply, to meet product financial goals. Collaborate with Operations and Businesses to drive business case development for CAPEX investments in new capacity and productivity enhancements. Work with stakeholders to drive achievement of agreed-to deliverables to internal and external customers while being accountable for the final decisions related to product features, cost, and time to market. Identify organic growth opportunities in adjacent, high margin markets. Identify, establish, maintain, and continually grow a pipeline comprised of vetted opportunities that exceed minimum revenue threshold (>$1M) and are aligned to targeted markets and EBITDA goals. Perform market research and utilize market knowledge to identify key strategic customers within market segments to prospect, build relationships and educate on Alltrista services and capabilities. Aggressively pursue opportunities that exceed minimum revenue threshold, but ideally focusing on large scale opportunities ($1M). Cultivate strategic customer relationships of $5MM. Work within and enhance the Sales Operation Process Obtain and document information in an accurate, complete, and timely manner; follow established operating procedures and best practices; make suggestions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of existing systems, and leverage technology to improve success (value to you and customer). Use workflow software, such as Smartsheet and Power BI to ensure accounts, contacts, and opportunities captured, accurate and complete to better manage opportunities. Work within established procedures for customer service, pricing and other internal departments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of processes (scalability). Leverage technology to be more informed, more efficient, and perform requisite responsibilities. Key Qualifications Strong and successful track record in new business development. Good understanding of product development and related requirements. Ability to prospect, identify and establish new clients. Ability and willingness to travel, including international. Well-developed network of decision makers in the medical device industry. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Science in related field or equivalent. Four to six years’ experience as a sales professional in the rigid packaging closure industry, with emphasis on child resistant closures (CRC’s). Passionate about developing and winning medical device projects. Customer centric outlook with a well-developed understanding of what it takes to build raving fan customers. Strong critical thinking, planning, relationship management and problem prevention/solving skills. Proven performance in building and delivering business cases – revenue, profit, ROIC, and market share. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Demonstrated organizational/planning capabilities with exceptional problem-prevention/solving skills. Detail oriented, able to meet deadlines on complex projects; excels in a fast-paced environment. Strong ability to utilize today’s computer technology and software in the execution of his / her job. Physical Requirements Sitting at workstation approximately 75 percent of work time. Standing and walking approximately 25 percent of work time. Must be able to travel a minimum of 50 percent of work time. Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice. Typical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfaces.
