About the Role
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Power Management IC Design Engineering Manager to lead and inspire a team of talented engineers in developing cutting-edge power solutions. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape the future of power management technology at Allegro. You will lead the development of high-efficiency, high-power-density switching regulator circuits for the automotive environment, using Bipolar, CMOS, and DMOS technologies. Your leadership will be essential in driving good design practices, fostering innovation, and ensuring successful project execution from concept to production.
What You'll Do
1. Lead and mentor a team of skilled analog, mixed-signal, and power IC design engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
2. Define and set challenging yet achievable deliverables for the team, aligning with Allegro's strategic objectives.
3. Plan and allocate resources effectively across multiple global locations to ensure on-time project delivery.
4. Drive continuous improvement in design processes and methodologies, promoting best practices and maximizing team efficiency.
5. Champion innovation and creativity within the team, encouraging exploration of new ideas and technical solutions.
6. Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams, including applications, marketing, test, and product engineering, to define product specifications and ensure successful product development.
7. Oversee the design and development of high-efficiency, high-power-density switching regulator circuits for automotive applications, addressing challenges in EMI mitigation and power supply optimization.
8. Leverage expertise in Bipolar, CMOS, DMOS, and mixed-signal design to guide the team in developing robust and high-performance integrated circuits.
9. Cultivate relationships with leading universities to attract and recruit top engineering talent, contributing to Allegro's long-term growth.
10. Provide mentorship and development opportunities for team members, fostering their technical and professional growth.
11. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of power management innovation.
What You Will Need
1. BSEE (MSEE preferred) with 8+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design, with a focus on power management circuits.
2. Deep understanding of analog IC design principles and techniques, including switching regulator topologies, control loop design, and stability analysis.
3. Proven track record of successfully managing and leading engineering teams, ideally in a global environment.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and deliver results on time and within budget.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with individuals at all levels within the organization.
7. Experience with automotive design requirements, including AEC-Q100 qualification, is highly desirable.
Occasional international and domestic travel may be required.
