About the Role
Your Moment Awaits…. Belmond is hiring a Junior Purchasing Specialist to reinforce the purchasing activities within the Southern Europe Region which includes Italy, Spain and Portugal.
Work Location will be our Fiesole Area Office.
The role will report to the Area Director of Purchasing.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Be one of the main communicators to vendors for quote requests.
· Set competitive bidding where required
· Identify and implement new cost savings initiatives with suppliers
· Renewal of supplier agreements
· Finalize contracts to be started on company ERP
· Report number of bidding successfully completed
· Report benefits after review of contracting actions
· Support the strategic procurement initiatives and projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the organization.
· Preparation of supplier evaluations and administration
· Responsible for recommending and revising purchasing SOPs
· Management of purchase administration. This includes, managing purchase orders, order confirmations, price-quotations, product evaluation dossiers, complaints, supplier evaluations, supplier contracts and supplier files
Requirements
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong negotiations skills with contract management
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Detail oriented and highly organized
· Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
· Excellent critical thinking skills
· Previous experience in a similar role
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Good analytical and reasoning skills
· Ability to think clearly under pressure
· Ability to complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner
· Ability to work effectively and relate well with senior management, colleagues and subordinates
· English language essential
· Spanish and Portuguese language desirable
