Functional Safety Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Join us as a Functional Safety Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/d)
In this role, you will be part of our Milan Software Development Hub, an agile team that develops modern software tools to help shape the next-generation elevator’s software to meet high quality and safety standards for Schindler’s products.
Your new exciting challenges include:
* Implementing and validating functional safety C applications, such as monitoring the elevator cabin position.
* Designing, implementing, and verifying embedded software components using modern design principles and contributing to defining requirements and specifying concepts.
* Investigating defects reported by testing or customers and solving problems structurally.
* Collaborating with team colleagues locally and remotely for reviews, design alignments, and ensuring software quality by implementing automated tests.
* Supporting the preparation of necessary documentation for approval with notified bodies.
You are a self-directed and self-organized, highly responsible, and reliable team player. Your good analytical skills pair with your hands-on approach and open mind for new technologies and agile development.
Further requirements may include:
* Degree in computer science, electronics, and/or software development.
* Extensive experience in developing and maintaining embedded software solutions in C, with proficiency in software architecture, design, and state-of-the-art engineering practices.
* Proficient in C and/or C++, with familiarity in unit testing, scripting, Python, and knowledge of OOD, design patterns, and clean code.
* Preferred experience with agile development methodologies, functional safety standards like IEC 61508, and using tools like MISRA C, Git, and JIRA.
* Preferably knowledgeable in the design and analysis of real-time systems.
* Proficient level of English is required. Italian and German are a plus.
