Regional Value & Access Lead, ADC, Italy
Primary Objective of Position
The Regional Value & Access Lead is responsible for access and reimbursement at regional level. Assigned to a selection of named Regions, the Regional Value & Access Lead is responsible for developing market access strategies at regional level and implementing cross-functional action plans aimed at achieving market access objectives in the short and medium-long term. He/She ensures to disseminate FSL ecosystem value proposition to all relevant stakeholders including policy makers, payers, Key Opinion Leaders, patient associations, and HTA experts with attention to clinical, socio-economic evidence and impact on healthcare organizations. He/She will also facilitate the creation of a connection among all relevant stakeholders to obtain/expand ADC products reimbursement and facilitate access addressing opportunities coming from the external environment (i.e. healthcare digitalization process, primary care reform). He/She maintains and expands relationships with strategically important customers.
Major Accountabilities
1. Be the point of contact and 'face' of ADC to regional/local payers, policy makers, patient associations, and KOLs involved in reimbursement and market access conditions at regional level.
2. Cultivate, seek, maintain and build relationships with the multiple stakeholders who define or influence regional policy on diabetes care to ensure customer centricity.
3. Create and seek opportunities to gain endorsement for ADC products by relevant regional market access stakeholders.
4. Be familiar with the key regional stakeholder needs within diabetes and the healthcare environment. Anticipate changes to the regional landscape and assess impact to ADC business. Provide insights on the regional environment.
5. Develop intimacy and adopt transparent relationships with all stakeholders in all channels through effective networking at all levels in order to gain preference for Abbott Diabetes Care brands.
6. Be responsible for regional market access plan development and implementation aimed at achieving/expanding ADC products regional reimbursement (eligibility) and access.
7. Drive and grow the ADC business, anticipating and overcoming barriers and gaining opportunities for product usage, to support the delivery of Sales and market share targets in the selected Regions.
8. Lead the implementation of strategic partnership and market access projects enhancing FSL ecosystem (i.e. inclusion of sensor-based telemonitoring in Abbott Commercial Affiliates – Area EMEAP Regional Value & Access Lead, ADC, Italy – Edition 01 regional diabetes guidelines/local protocols for in-patient and out-patient settings).
9. Anticipate contracting and tendering opportunities and risks within care groups to properly position the ADC portfolio and coordinate with the sales team on contracts/tender strategies to sustain access, profitability, and FSL digital ecosystem enhancement.
10. Ensure that all activities are performed in compliance with quality system requirements.
Education
B.A. or B.S. Degree in Medicine, Economics, or Science. Master's degree in Medicine, Business Administration, Public Health, Health Economics, or Health Policy.
Background
Proven experience of interacting and building relationships directly with healthcare stakeholders/decision makers at all levels. Knowledge of the healthcare landscape and trends, including payers, and healthcare funding flows. Knowledge of decision-making processes and who the key stakeholders/influencers are. Ability to develop strategies and to translate them into actionable and realistic engagement plans to ensure market access of Abbott products, in alignment with brand strategies. Ability to collect and share insights with ADC organization to support the development of value propositions addressing customers’ needs. A proven ability to interact and influence customers at all levels to deliver a successful commercial outcome. Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver clear concise messages. Ability to be autonomous and self-motivated. Excellent organizational skills. Keen awareness and adherence to timelines.
Impact of Position
In the current environment, reimbursement policies have a significant impact on patients, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, physicians, and any healthcare provider. Failure to recognize reimbursement changes and opportunities may result in significant loss of revenue for new and existing products. Additionally, noncompliance with government reimbursement policies and interpretations within the corporation may lead to lawsuits by individuals and payers. The position owns the market access and reimbursement work stream within the affiliate, which has a critical impact on the revenue base and profitability of ADC Abbott.
