To support our growing business, activities and needs, we are recruiting a talented System Engineer to join our brand-new Global Operations Center located in Turin, Italy. The System Engineer will actively contribute to maintain, operate, and monitor the existing corporate infrastructure as well as to its future design and implementation.
DESCRIPTION
Some of the responsibilities will include:
• Managing and monitoring of existing systems and infrastructure
• Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools
• Ensuring the integrity and high availability of our infrastructure (Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity)
• Performing on-site and remote technical support
• Implementing and supporting disaster recovery / business continuity solutions
• Maintaining system documentation to include system reviews and recommendations
• Identifying potential issues and proactively proposing solutions and improvements
• Securing systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
• Troubleshooting and fault finding if issues arise
• Fulfilling ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the Company
• Contributing to the definition and implementation of project best practices and quality processes
• Participation in the on-call rotation
HIERARCHICAL REPORTING
• Hierarchically reports to the Managing Director, MSC Technology Italy
• Functionally reports to the Infrastructure Team Leader
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required skills and experience:
• Extensive experience within information security/technology sector
• Practical experience working in a RHEL (7 & 8) environment / Debian / Ubuntu
• Experience with RedHat Satellite
• Proven experience with Azure, Azure DevOps and working within CI/CD pipelines
• Scripting knowledge (Ansible, Bash, Python)
• Hands-on experience with job scheduler / SCM (Rundeck, Git)
• Expertise in deploying and maintaining business critical applications and solutions
• Proven experience in incident management, service request management and troubleshooting using root cause analysis (RCA) techniques
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Outstanding English languages written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding customer service skills
Desirable skills and experience:
• Experience of using ticketing systems and use of monitoring and management tools
• Experience with ServiceNow APIs
• Experience with automated provisioning workflow / IaC templating
• Experience with Datadog / self-remediation monitoring
• Experience with cloud-based solutions around compute, storage, and network (Azure)
• Experience with Agile methodology
• RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) or RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) or equivalent certifications
• ITIL certification
• Fluency in French is a plus
