Mission The Food Business Development Manager will be instrumental in developing RINA's offering of an assigned services portfolio and/or within an assigned geographical coverage. Key Accountabilities Drive and monitor the order intake pipeline; Update the pipeline with new prospects to be followed up; Work across the RINA Group developing ‘cross selling’ and mutual opportunities; Track competitor activity and provide updates on competitor news and intelligence; Be responsible for sales and business development initiatives focused on new sales and business opportunities for the Food Market, client visits, and management; Explore opportunities for alliances and partnerships to explore new markets; Engage with current and potential customers to discuss and understand their needs; Support our focus on customer satisfaction, repeat business, and developing new markets; Stay current with RINA’s offerings and technology solutions, including customer tailored tools. Education Master’s Degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Food Technology Qualifications - Substantial experience in business development, sales, or related roles is required. Business Development Managers may be expected to have 3-7 years or more of relevant experience. - Technical knowledge of the main food certification schemes (BRCGS, IFS, GLOBALG.A.P., FSSC22000), Food Product, and MS certification. - Proficient in sales techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. - Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and agreements with clients, partners, and vendors. - Analytical thinking to assess market trends, competitor activities, and performance metrics to inform decision-making. - In-depth knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape to make informed business decisions. - Familiarity with relevant technologies and tools, including CRM systems, to streamline business development processes.
