As a Product Manager for orbital_OLIVER, will be responsible for defining the product’s vision, strategy, and roadmap, while working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and operations to deliver a cutting-edge product that enables on-board satellite autonomy. Your goal will be to ensure orbital_OLIVER continues to meet the evolving needs of the space industry, driving innovation, customer satisfaction, and growth.
Tasks
* Product Vision & Strategy:
o Develop and own the product vision for orbital_OLIVER in alignment with AIKO’s mission to revolutionize satellite operations through autonomy.
o Define and execute the product roadmap to enhance AI-based on-board autonomy, platform automation, and payload data processing for satellite systems.
o Ensure the product remains competitive and market-leading by continuously analyzing industry trends, customer feedback, and technological advancements.
* Product Development & Delivery:
o Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to guide product development from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards.
o Prioritize features and improvements based on customer feedback, technical feasibility, and business value.
o Lead cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and support, to successfully execute product releases and updates.
* Product Reporting & Accountability:
o Report directly to the C-level executives regarding the product team’s performance, including revenue generation, cost management, customer acquisition, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
o Provide regular updates on the product’s financial health, customer growth, and market position, ensuring alignment with AIKO’s overall strategic goals.
* Customer & Market Insights:
o Engage with customers, including satellite operators, manufacturers, and agencies, to gather insights, understand their pain points, and ensure orbital_OLIVER addresses their needs effectively.
o Conduct market research to stay ahead of competitors and identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
o Build strong relationships with key clients such as EutelSat, Thales Alenia Space, and Ariane Group to ensure continuous product value delivery.
* Performance Tracking & Improvement:
o Establish KPIs to monitor the success of orbital_OLIVER in satellite missions and identify areas for improvement.
o Continuously optimize the product lifecycle, from product design to operational support, ensuring high customer satisfaction and product reliability.
* Business & Financial Accountability:
o Develop business cases for new product features and investments, ensuring profitability and alignment with AIKO’s growth objectives.
o Collaborate with the sales team to support product positioning, pricing strategies, and customer pitches, contributing to revenue growth.
Requirements
* Experience:
o 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably within the space industry, aerospace, or high-tech hardware and software solutions.
o Proven track record of managing the lifecycle of complex technical products from inception to commercialization.
* Skills & Knowledge:
o Strong understanding of satellite systems, autonomy technologies, and AI-based solutions for space applications.
o Excellent leadership and project management skills to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
o Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess both technical and business trade-offs.
* Education:
o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field; MBA or advanced business training is a plus.
* Languages:
o Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
