Job Title: System Engineer
Description
The successful candidate will be a technician within the customer project, supporting other technicians on the team on technical issues and tools. The System Engineer will provide expertise and advice to the client on technical issues and problems, writing technical documentation for the project, making configurations, and performing functional tests. Additionally, the candidate will operate Secheron Hasler products on the train and train the customer and internal technical staff.
Responsibilities and Key Tasks
* Requirements management for creating the System Specification
* Generates and manages the technical project documentation and deliverables
* Creating configurations for onboard electronic products like e.g. Event recorders, Energy Meter, Gateways
* Specifies and executes system tests according to the project requirements
* Is responsible for the correct configuration control of the project, for both Hardware and Software
* For some products, it can be required to develop a PLC-based application
* Technical interface with the customer and internal employees
* Supports the technical work of the other engineers in the project team
* Supports the customer in case of technical questions and problems during the customer project
* Performs the commissioning and training of the customer, mainly in Europe
* Define test equipment and tooling requirements and ensure their timely availability
* Support to R&D for validation of new HW and SW solutions
* Support to product management for standardized solutions with 3rd party components
Qualifications
* University degree in a technical field such as IT/OT
* Minimum 5 years of experience (only applicable to seniors)
* Ability to prioritize and organize activities and to generate and maintain a project schedule
* Have worked on railway projects, an advantage if the projects concerned safety development
* Ability to identify project risks and opportunities
* Enjoyment of working independently and in a team
* Having excellent communication skills
* Knowledge of both spoken and written Italian and English is mandatory, knowledge of German is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications
* Good knowledge of railway standard EN50126, EN50155, EN50463
* Advantage of security standards IEC62443-4 and ISO27001
* Knowledge of French both spoken and written
