Offer Description
We are seeking an Assistant Professor with expertise in Vacuum technologies for thin film synthesis, including Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), Chemical Vapor Deposition and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), to join our cutting-edge research team. The successful candidate will work with integrated ALD-PVD systems to study the effect of multi-layered hybrid coatings on 3D-printed nano- and micro-structures. This position is part of the FIS2023 SuNRISE project, which aims to improve the mechanical reliability of 3D-printed architectures through fine-tuned coatings, geometry optimization, and stress-level control.
The primary focus will be on designing, executing, and optimizing deposition processes, particularly for materials such as Alumina (Al₂O₃) and Zinc Oxide (ZnO). The role involves both experimental and analytical approaches to investigate deposition mechanisms, interface stability, and mechanical performance of coatings on complex architectures.
