Cost Consultant – Construction- Permanent Role, Rome

The role:
Our client is seeking a Cost Consultant to join a dynamic and collaborative team in Rome. Responsibilities:
* Actively participate in the tender and bid process, from initial documentation through to analysis and reporting.
* Manage the change control process, including identifying, analysing, approving, and implementing cost-related changes.
* Evaluate tenders and bids to ensure clients receive the best value for money.
* Assist in preparing and agreeing final accounts, handling claims to maximise value for clients.
* Develop estimates and cost plans for key client projects.
* Oversee project expenditure, producing valuations and cost reports while effectively communicating variations.
* Provide accurate cost documentation and clear, timely communication to support project management decisions.
* Support the resolution of construction disputes and loss/expense claims with transparency.
* Mentor and support team members, fostering high performance and professional growth.
About You:
* Experience as a Cost Consultant, ideally within a consultancy environment.
* Strong background in pre-contract cost management, budget control, cost planning, and change management.
* Knowledge of alternative construction materials.
* Chartered or working towards chartership (support available).
* Degree or equivalent experience in project management or construction.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* A collaborative approach, with a passion for building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
