The Testing Engineer will report to Operations within Prysmian Transmission business unit (Former Prysmian Powerlink).
Job Overview
The Testing Engineer will support the engineering team with the definition of the testing protocol, create the detail plan of work of the qualification, align the stakeholders with the defined plan ensuring their readiness, follow the qualification process, predict and/or solve eventual complications given by the complexity of the projects, collect data and activate optimization and/or development.
Have a deep and extensive knowledge of qualification laboratories and relative methods. Highlight possible improvement in processes and methods to align laboratories with the central R&D function. Evaluate possible modification within laboratories perimeter to improve the quality and timing of qualifications. Support other Testing Engineers with definition of loops under tests, technical/technological limits of labs and logistic constraint.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Attend the tests checking the correctness of the execution
2. Review the protocols and the product performance to ensure the feasibility of the tests
3. Support during the bidding phase by defining the qualification requirements
4. Organize the test (material, workforce, attendees)
5. Help on the definition of the new testing protocols
6. Dialogue with the laboratories to keep technical alignment
7. Predict, manage and solve eventual complexities
8. Support on the overall organization of the laboratories to maximize the output
9. Dialogue with colleagues to ensure a continuous sharing of lesson learnt and best practices
10. Dialogue with clients to ensure the satisfaction of expectations
11. Collect data and information
12. Report compiling
Qualifications
13. Master’s degree in Electrical engineering (preferred) or similar Engineering Background
14. Good level of English (written and spoken)
15. Knowledge of basic working principles of testing equipment (transformers, inverters, impulse generator, etc.)
16. Preferred experience with tests/laboratories/qualification process (minimum of 3 years)
