Job Description
Innovation & AI Forge team oversees the development of projects and transformational initiatives in the AI and smart process automation space for Generali Asset Management, collaborating with several departments in the organization. It is taking care of the full life cycle of the solutions from the preliminary assessments till the industrialization of the AI and smart automation solutions.
We are seeking an exceptional Machine Learning expert to join our Innovation & AI Forge team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in propelling Generali Asset Management towards becoming a data and technology-driven enterprise through the extensive application of Artificial Intelligence.
This role involves participating in AI projects at various stages of development, from experimental to fully operational solutions, offering a comprehensive understanding of AI applications, implementation, and delivery within the asset management sector.
The successful applicant will analyze vast quantities of structured and unstructured data, develop machine learning algorithms, and work in close collaboration with business experts to translate business challenges into analytical problems. The candidate will report directly to the head of the function and work in tandem with other colleagues in the IT & Innovation department, ensuring a synergistic approach to innovation and technology application in asset management.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
1. Develop and industrialize ML solutions, leveraging both structured and unstructured data
2. Develop and industrialize LLM models for a broad range of asset management use cases
3. Assist in defining requirements and conducting functional analysis to develop ML and LLM solutions in collaboration with business units
4. Participate in the continuous update of the organization's vision and roadmap for adopting ML and LLM technologies
Requirements
Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
1. Work experience requested: 2-5 years
2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in a highly quantitative field such as Mathematical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Quantitative Finance, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
3. Proficiency in both Italian and English
4. Strong knowledge of Python and its principal data processing and modeling libraries (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, XGBoost)
5. Good understanding of deep learning models and frameworks (Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
6. Expertise in NLP architectures with a focus on Large Language Models (LLMs), including RAG models, chunking techniques, and prompt engineering techniques
7. Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud environments
8. Collaborative and a team player, capable of working effectively with others to achieve shared objectives
9. Possesses a proactive attitude and a strong sense of ownership, committed to delivering results
10. Clear communicator, adept at conveying complex ideas and data insights in a straightforward and comprehensible manner
11. Willing to challenge the status quo and engage in continuous learning, staying abreast of the latest advancements in data science and AI
