We have an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Executive to join our Investment Vector Marketing EMEA Team. This is a 12 month fixed term contract, covering a parental leave and will be based in Milan.
Multi-lingual skills are desirable (Italian and English essential).
About the Department
The Investments Vector provides a broad range of investment products and solutions to suit clients' needs, now and in the future. We market our investment products through two core client channels:
1. Wholesale: Financial Advisers, Wealth Managers, Discretionary Fund Managers and Global Banks
2. Institutional: Pension Funds, Family Offices, Charities and Endowments, Insurance and Soveriegn Wealth Funds
The Marketing Executive Italy will support the delivery of a wider ranging set of marketing initiative and plans focused on delivery the commercial and brand outcomes abrdn seeks to achieve.
The Marketing Executive will work closely with Content & Capability Marketing colleagues to supervise the creation of new literature and videos required to engage our investors. They will also work closely with Digital Marketing & Analytics colleagues across a range of digital media channels used to support key campaigns and website engagement. They will also work with the Italian Distribution team whose contribution is integral to developing effective marketing strategies which the Vector Marketing team will implement and deliver.
About the Role
In collaboration with the Marketing Director EMEA build the Marketing Strategy and build the operating model to deliver including:
3. Managing the on-going relationship with the Head of Distribution and the Distribution team members
4. Supporting the development of the annual marketing plan and activity aligned to the wider EMEA and Global plans and objectives
Support and inform the delivery of brand, thematic and product campaigns within the markets
5. Adapt and roll out centralised campaigns: campaign design & structure for the markets
6. Adopt global standards and processes and embed best methodologies across the markets
7. Design campaigns utilising the full communications mix – PR, Advertising, Events, Digital, Emails etc.
8. Maximise Distribution adoption of content and campaigns ensuring follow up to capitalise on opportunities
Digital Marketing Strategy roll out, with the support of digital colleagues:
9. Align country and channel strategy to always-on digital marketing strategy
10. Develop and implement a direct email strategy in conjunction with Marketing Automation colleagues
11. Define a Social Media strategy with Digital colleagues
12. Collaborate with Search & Social Media colleagues on Paid Search (PPC) strategy as well as support on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) roll out across websites
13. Ensure local content is developed according to digital consumption
14. Fully digest digital activity dashboards to ensure all digital activity is appropriate and where applicable, work closely with digital colleagues to identify optimisations for future activity
Event strategy and management
15. Develop an event strategy (both proprietary and sponsored Third party) aligned to product priorities, along with Distribution
16. Oversee operational side of events
Deliver Marketing Activity and initiatives to time, scope and budget with a focus on maximising opportunities and return on investment
Supervise marketing content production from Investment Capability Marketing team. Assist with re-purposing global marketing content; ensuring materials are revised to meet local compliance and brand requirements; work closely with channel marketing managers to develop new and innovative marketing collateral to support initiatives. Ensure suite of content is available to meet 'always on' promotion and campaign needs
Press agency relationship management, maximising abrdn press coverage on focus themes and funds
Discover opportunities to improve marketing processes across the EMEA Marketing team
Ensure all EMEA Marketing activity follows global standards and processes
About the Candidate Requirements
17. A marketing professional with early stage experience working as part of a channel marketing team.
18. Highly motivated, flexible, teammate, great attention to details, personal initiative and ability of carrying out projects in autonomy are a must with a proven B2B / B2C track record
19. Understanding of the asset management industry and sophisticated client engagement.
20. Knowledge of financial markets, preferably gained within an asset manager or financial services firm, as well as of different asset classes and investment styles.
21. Experience in the delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns on and offline.
22. Experience of working alongside Distribution and developing collaborative take to market and conversion plans.
23. Experience of working as part of a cross functional project team to deliver a common goal.
24. Sound organisational and scheduling skills.
25. Competent digital literacy (ideally SalesForce, Eloqua, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet) to perform job duties listed above.
26. Teamwork: Displays willingness to collaborate and learn from others, including peers
27. Commerciality: Takes steps to understand the market, competitor activity and market
28. Experience of working in a business to business industry is desirable
29. Multi-lingual skills are desirable (Italian and English are a must)
30. Previous experience of working with colleagues from different countries is desirable
