In the Performance Materials Division, we develop innovative plastics and foams for all kinds of applications. Whether it is for cars, buildings or sporting goods – we always look for the ideal material solution. To do this, we work closely with our customers: from production and logistics to research and sales, all the way to component testing, design consulting and simulation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Customer service: providing technical support to customers on the selection, processing, registration and approval of products. Solving processing problems and providing advice on general processing issues. Technical assistance regarding customer claims concerning products. Developing customer specifications in cooperation with product development, quality management and performance management.
2. Customer interaction: maintaining the network of contacts with technical departments at customers and suppliers in cooperation with the respective sales units.
3. Project and topic related work: providing assistance in managing and acquiring projects at the assigned customers in cooperation with the respective sales units and segment marketing. Interface to other BASF service units and management of respective technical requests. Providing standard technical services and solutions.
4. Contributing to developing the segment: ensuring the flow of technical information within the business unit and the relevant industry. Collecting information on competitors’ products and technologies.
5. Contributing to the development of the portfolio: communicating product demands to product development, involvement in establishing process instructions, assisting in the launch of newly developed products on the market.
6. Technical service: assistance in distributing samples and obtaining technical approval for projects and business with series products.
7. Involvement in PR activities (internal and external).
QUALIFICATIONS
8. Academic Degree in Chemistry.
9. MS Excel and Powerpoint knowledge.
10. Excellent communications skills and fluency in English.
11. Customer and goal-oriented attitude.
