Reliability Engineering Manager
About the Role
The Reliability Engineering Manager serves as the site lead for all engineering matters within a building. They are responsible for leading their team, fostering a culture of safety, and ensuring statutory compliance requirements are met to provide a safe working environment for occupants.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the team, overseeing annual reporting, and mentoring direct reports who develop technicians within the team.
* Collaborating with the site Safety department and Site Leadership to implement, record, and audit safety and statutory compliance programs.
* Working with the recruitment team to fill allocated headcount with high-quality experienced staff, including support for Apprentice and Graduate programs.
* Implementing standards validated by the EU Engineering team and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
* Maintaining equipment failure contingency plans, driving rehearsals, and being prepared to work flexibly to ensure failures or breakdowns are rectified quickly.
* Maintaining a long-term focus by working with Site Management, Finance, the EU Engineering team, and internal design teams to plan for future growth, upgrades, or new equipment rollouts.
Requirements
* 5+ years of engineering team leadership experience.
* Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from an accredited university or 2+ years of experience in an Amazon engineering team.
* Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Excellent communications skills (written & verbal) in English and the local language.
* Experience with automated equipment, including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.
* Project management experience.
* Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
* Chartered Engineer or working towards it.
* Full working knowledge of specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the FC, as well as maintenance and safety procedures.
* Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
