We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead front end developer to join our Unit in Milan.Job Description:You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all solutions are optimized for usability, accessibility, and performance. You will act as a technical leader for our front-end team and be responsible for driving innovation and best practices in front-end engineering.You will use and implement features such as multi-site and multi-language delivery, personalization, templates, and user interface components.Internally you will help provide assets and knowledge transfer to ensure the growth and scalability of our offerings as part of the frontend practice. You will provide support to team members and help develop their careers in alignment with Merkle Italy's service offering.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop and maintain robust user interfaces using React/VueJS and NodeParticipate in requirements gathering, design, development, and QA supportCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the front-end is optimized for usability, accessibility, and performanceBuild reusable components and front-end librariesOptimize code for performance and SEODiscover and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency as well as customer satisfaction.Provide input and mentoring for other engineersContinuously monitor frontend performance, identify, and address bottlenecks, and suggest optimizationsManage and prioritize the frontend team's backlog, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality workMentor and upskill team members with modern technologies and best practices.Requirements:At least 6 years of relevant experience in front-end development, with at least 2 years in a leadership roleMust have experience developing CMS-based and e-commerce solutions based on headless architecturesAt least 4 years of experience with the React or Vue ecosystemStrong Knowledge of State Management and relevant workflowsIn-depth knowledge of TypeScript, CSS, and HTMLStrong proficiency in Vanilla JavaScript and browser APIExperience with integration of RESTful APIs and GraphQLKnowledge and experience with full SDLC lifecycleGood sense of User Experience and Design as a whole.Experience with Lean / Agile development methodologiesGood experience with unit, integration and e2e testing and relevant workflowsGood experience with CI/CD paradigms and relevant workflows (GitHub actions, GitLab pipelines or similar)Experience with gitExperience with Design Systems principlesEnglish proficiencyOptional/Nice to have:Familiarity with other frameworks such as Angular, Solid, and SvelteExperience in Next.js and Vercel is a big plusFamiliarity with accessibility principles and patternsFamiliarity with E2E testing and relevant workflowsFamiliarity with modern frontend tooling such as Webpack, Vite similarOverview of current commerce and content management systems in the marketKeen eye on User Experience and Design as a wholeWhat we offer:A dynamic and stimulating work environment with opportunities for professional growth.Opportunities to work with high-profile clients and on innovative projects.Continuous training and skill development.If you believe you match these skills, please apply!
