Solaris Biotechnology, a Donaldson brand under Life Science & Special Application, designs and manufactures bioprocessing equipment, including Bioreactors, Fermenters, and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) systems for R&D and production purposes.
We provide high-tech bioprocess solutions used in universities, research centers, and various industries such as Biotech, Pharma, Food and Beverage, Nutraceutical, Cosmeceutical, Chemical, and Agricultural, including applications in bioplastics and biofuels.
We are seeking an experienced Senior CAD Designer to join our team. The position will be based in Porto Mantovano, Italy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and development of innovative bioreactors, fermenters, and bioprocessing equipment for Biotech, Pharma, and Food & Beverage industries.
* Provide advanced engineering and industry knowledge to drive innovation and solve complex customer challenges.
* Create and review detailed 3D models of components and develop engineering drawings using CAD software.
* Oversee the design and conception of piping based on engineering specifications.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and project requirements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, and engineering to optimize product design.
* Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior CAD designers.
Education Qualification:
* High school diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Technical Competence & Skills:
* Extensive experience with 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solid Edge, and SolidWorks.
* Strong knowledge of piping design rules and mechanical components.
* Proficiency in designing piping and utilities in compliance with engineering standards.
* Knowledge of hygienic design principles for bioprocessing and food and beverage applications.
* Ability to lead design projects and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
* 8+ years of experience as a CAD Designer, preferably in bioprocessing, food & beverage, oil & gas, or pharmaceutical industries.
* Prior experience in leading design teams or mentoring junior designers is a plus.
