What does the role look like?
Joining the Mechanical Design Team, you will work on design and development of Flight Control Actuation Systems (Hydraulic, Mechanical, Electro-mechanical), Environmental Control Systems and Nacelle Components from the concept phase to the detail phase; address issues resolution in a team-working environment. Assess the feasibility of product design with varying complexity, assuring high quality technical content and timely closure. Prepare, update, review and maintain models, drawing and design documentation at system, sub-system and component level.
What will you bring to the role?
* Engineering degree (Aerospace or Mechanical will be preferred).
* 7+ years of actuation design experience, including experience in complex concept and detail design (gear reducers, epicyclic gearing, actuators, complex mechanisms, hydraulic valves).
* Strong knowledge of 3D modelling tools (Siemens Unigraphics NX 1899 will be preferred).
* Solid modelling and ability to manage large assemblies.
* Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (per ISO and ASME standards).
* Experience with PLM tools (Siemens TeamCenter will be preferred).
* Ability to organize and execute tasks, including supervision of other designers (external and internal).
* Good written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
* Team player, demonstrating positive and collaborative attitude.
Desirable skills:
* Knowledge of tolerance and stack up analysis tools (i.e. Siemens Variational Analysis).
* Knowledge of gearbox dimensioning tools (i.e. KissSoft).
* Knowledge of aerospace materials.
* Knowledge of electrical wiring and cable packaging.
* Understanding of design to manufacturing and to cost principles.
* Understanding of reliability and maintainability concepts.
