ROLE SUMMARY:
The International School of Monza seeks a dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspirational Biology and Science Teacher to join our team from September 2025. Located in the heart of Monza, the school offers proximity to vibrant Milan, the scenic Italian lakes, and renowned ski resorts. We welcome 340 students from nearly 40 nationalities, aged 2.5 to 18, delivering the full IB continuum.
Applicants should be highly qualified, fluent in English, and committed to supporting students' academic and personal growth. The ability to teach at both MYP and DP levels is essential. While IB experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and foster students' academic and personal development. They will also contribute to extra-curricular activities and support the wider school community.
The Science department consists of four full-time teachers, laboratories, and a dedicated technician. Inquiry-based learning and hands-on experimentation are central to the teaching approach. General Science is taught from Grades 7-9, with discrete sciences introduced from Grade 10. Diploma courses include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Systems & Societies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teaching Biology and another subject at IB Diploma Higher Level.
2. Teaching General Science and a discrete Science in the Middle Years Programme.
3. Developing and updating learning resources collaboratively.
4. Differentiating lessons to meet pupil needs, providing challenge and support.
5. Preparing engaging lessons and assessments aligned with departmental goals.
6. Contributing to curriculum and assessment updates.
7. Using diverse teaching methods for online and in-person learning.
8. Engaging in professional development.
9. Ensuring high achievement through collaboration and quality teaching.
10. Monitoring pupil progress and reporting as required.
11. Supporting interdisciplinary learning initiatives.
12. Promoting the Science Department locally and internationally.
13. Maintaining engaging displays of pupil work.
14. Meeting deadlines and managing time effectively.
15. Participating in school life, including extra-curricular activities.
16. Supporting field trips, competitions, and experiential learning.
17. Contributing to school events and activities.
18. Representing the school positively to the community.
19. Undertaking other duties as assigned.
