Position Title: Space Economy Faculty Lecturer
Location: Full Remote
Collaboration Type: Part-Time/Contractual
Compensation: €100 per hour + VAT (depending on location and applicable tax regulations)
Role Summary
The Faculty Lecturer will design, develop, and deliver high-quality educational content focused on various aspects of the space economy. You will engage with learners through online lectures, interactive sessions, and assignments, ensuring that participants gain practical insights into the latest trends, technologies, and business models shaping the space industry. This role requires expertise in one or more areas of the space economy, strong teaching skills, and a passion for sharing knowledge with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Course Development:
Design and structure lessons tailored to the needs of our online community of learners, covering topics such as satellite technology, space entrepreneurship, Earth observation, telecommunications, and policy.
Create engaging multimedia content, including videos, slideshows, case studies, and topic assessments.
Content Delivery:
Conduct live virtual lectures and webinars on platforms like Zoom via SEI’s proprietary LMS.
Facilitate discussions, Q&A sessions, and group activities to enhance learner engagement.
Student Support:
Provide feedback on assignments and projects submitted by learners.
Offer guidance and mentorship to help students achieve their learning objectives.
Research & Innovation:
Stay updated on the latest advancements in the space economy and incorporate them into your teachings.
Contribute to SEI’s research initiatives and publications when possible.
Facilitate placement opportunities between SEI's students and space economy related positions when available.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
Collaborate with the SEI team to refine course materials and improve overall program quality.
Skills and Qualifications Required
Core Skills required:
Expertise in Space Economy Topics: Proven experience or deep understanding of at least one area within the space economy (e.g., aerospace engineering, satellite communications, Earth observation, space law, etc.).
Teaching Experience: Demonstrated ability to teach effectively in an academic or professional setting, preferably in a virtual environment.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.
English - minimum Level C1 (or native) spoken/written.
Technological Proficiency: Comfortable using digital tools and platforms for content creation, delivery, and collaboration (e.g., Google Workspace, Moodle, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Average Skills Required:
Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance multiple responsibilities.
Ability to adapt to different learning styles and provide personalized support to learners.
Familiarity with current trends in adult education and e-learning methodologies.
Basic graphic design and video editing skills for creating visually appealing content.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant field (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or Environmental Science).
Professional experience working in the space industry or a related sector.
Publications or speaking engagements in the space economy domain.
