The Field Application Engineer is the primary technical resource for assigned accounts, supporting customers, and taking their design programs from conception right through to mass production. The ideal candidate will have strong technical, commercial and interpersonal skills. This is a customer facing sales position, and as a such, excellent presentation and communication skills are a must. Working closely with the Regional Sales Team, and more broadly with the EMEA Sales Teams, ADI Business Units and Technology Groups, confidence and a strong team ethic is required, as is the ability to act and work independently. Knowledge and experience within the semiconductor market is essential.
Key responsibilities of the role:
1. Be a trusted technical advisor for customers while delivering exceptional support service on a day-to-day basis
2. Build up strategic and durable partnerships with our key customers in the region
3. Development of ADI business at all regional customers in Italy
4. Identification and management of new business opportunities/new customers/startups for ADI and bring them to win
5. Understanding customers’ objectives and requirements and anticipating their challenges
6. Leverage on ADI’s solutions value by positioning our products, demonstrating evaluation systems/boards and generating new upsell/cross-sell opportunities
7. Be a pro-active member of the Sales Team and build a strong internal network within ADI
8. Effectively articulate and communicate customers’ needs back into the organization
9. Visit customers on a regular basis, attend trade shows and other industry events to capitalize on networking and relationship-building opportunities
10. Support internal marketing and product definition teams collecting and summarizing requirements and market trends for specific end applications
11. Training customers on Analog Devices' solutions and products and presenting at seminars
12. Keep up to date with latest ADI technologies, products and trends
13. Co-operate with the Sales Team ensuring sales KPIs are timely met, sharing knowledge on trends, growth/lost business, upsell/cross-sell opportunities and providing actionable recommendations for improvements
Qualifications :
14. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification
15. 5+ years experience at board/system electronic design level or previous experience as Field Application Engineer
16. Experience in the semiconductor market and in solution selling
17. Experience in technology sales and working with distribution partners
18. Highly motivated, energetic and positive attitude required
19. Team player and ability to adapt to changing situations
20. Self-motivating and taking initiative
21. Excellent communication and presentation skills
22. Excellent relationship building skills
23. Proficiency in Italian and English language
24. Willingness to travel 3 to 4 days a week, valid driving license and passport
25. Full clean driving license and passport
