Grafton Srl, for a leading designer and manufacturer of medical and dental equipment company, is looking for a SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNER.
Reporting to the Equipment Manager, being part of the team that develops the mechanical design of new products / revamping of existing ones, from concept to detail and prototype, in compliance with specifications, regulatory clearances and design control procedures, after a first period of training and knowledge transfer, will be appointed as Senior Mechanical team leader for specific development projects inside the organization.
Reporting to the assigned project manager he/she will be in charge of driving team’s technical activities and controlling team’s work progress within the assigned projects.
Main activities and tasks:
* Development of design concepts into engineering projects, taking into account the identification and integration of commercial components as well as home-designed electronic hardware;
* Generation of CAD models and 2D detailed drawings of parts, sub-assemblies and final assemblies of new devices;
* Structural and thermal verification of the components (analytical and/or FEM; as an alternative, design by experiment);
* Assembling of prototypes;
* Technical support to the testing lab during validation test campaigns and to the procurement department during market survey and purchase order management;
* Write technical specifications and reports;
* Filing and archiving of documents in compliance with Q.M.S. and applicable standards;
* Monitoring of design work issued by external partners.
Skills and Experience:
* 3D CAD solid modelling;
* Finite elements modelling: structural, thermal and multi-physics;
* Analytical solution, through engineering formulations, of structural, thermal and hydraulic/pneumatic problems;
* Generation of technical drawings and their interpretation;
* Writing of technical documentation (specifications and reports);
* Problem solving;
* Ability to work both independently and in a team;
* Written and spoken English.
Nice to have Qualifications:
* Knowledge of SolidWorks, Comsol, Matlab;
* Proven experience as designer of molded plastic components;
* Proven experience in the design and calculation of pneumatic/hydraulic systems for machines;
* Knowledge of directives and standards 2006/42/CE, IEC EN 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971;
* Knowledge and experience in the design, prototyping and industrialization of electro-medical devices.
Educational Requirements:
* Master (or Bachelor) degree in mechanical engineering;
* More than 5 years experience as mechanical engineer in R&D department or similar.
Offered: permanent contract; level and salary commensurate with actual experience.
