Description
We are looking for a self-motivated Support Developer with a Ruby background. You will be part of an Engineering team that delivers branded communities for our healthcare clients and supports our internal application support needs.
Responsibilities
* Support our Client Success Team as they serve our clients all over the world
* Work with our designers to deliver branded online communities for our clients, and maintain them over time
* Troubleshoot issues in our production environment, escalating to the on-call Engineer as needed
* Support Engineering team with code reviews and collaboration
* Generate ad hoc and regularly requested activity reports for clients
* Run reports and scripts using our MySQL database
* Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement
* Respond to tickets in a timely and professional manner
* Support our US designers by creating assets from provided mocks
* Support our QA team by assisting to diagnose errors in the staging environment
* Help develop internal tools for manipulating data
* Understand requests and how they translate in application features
* Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
* Write high quality source code to program complete requests
* Troubleshoot and debug applications
* Conduct peer demo testing
* Develop technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code
Requirements
* At least three (3) years of development experience
* At least three (3) years in a support role
* Strong SCSS/CSS, Javascript, and HTML skills
* Strong SQL experience (database is MySQL)
* Able to work flexible hours, long-term you may be supporting clients internationally (Hours will be 5am - 1pm EST)
Preferred Skills:
* Liquid template experience
* Full-stack and/or Ruby on Rails experience
* Experience with asset/logo creation is a plus
* Experience in designing and building applications
* Ability to program in at least one programming language such as C#, Java (J2EE) etc.
* In-depth knowledge of programming for diverse operating systems and platforms using development tools
* Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
