The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Chef de Rang. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Chef de Rang will be part of a team of high-level professionals with a strong passion for F&B.
This is a seasonal, full-time contract role (40-hour working week). It offers an opportunity to work in a place of exceptional art and elegance, where history and culture meet Venetian style. The Gritti is known for impassioned service, delectable culinary experiences, and an intimate wellness haven, serving the world's elite at international events like the Biennale, Carnival, and the Venice Film Festival.

The impact you’ll make
You will share your menu knowledge and expertise with guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience through warm greetings, flawless table settings, and friendly service. Your goal is to provide each guest with a memorable experience during their stay.
What you’ll be doing
* Welcome guests and promptly attend to tables
* Serve food and beverages, making recommendations as needed
* Assist guests with menu questions and special requests
* Record transactions accurately in the MICROS system
* Check guest satisfaction with each course and beverage
* Clean tables, complete closing duties, and restock supplies
* Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, orders, and dietary needs
* Follow cycle time guidelines for meals
* Maintain cleanliness of work areas
* Inspect china, glass, and silverware for cleanliness and presentation
* Follow SOPs and brand guidelines at all times
What we’re looking for
* Legal right to work in Italy, with a valid full-time work permit (40 hours/week)
* Fluent in English and Italian
* Understanding of F&B operations and luxury hospitality
* Positive outlook and outgoing personality
* Strong conversational skills and teamwork orientation
* Experience in fine dining restaurants is an advantage
* Knowledge of Micros is preferred
This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and maintain a professional appearance in uniform. Safety training and certification are required prior to employment.
