RINA is currently recruiting for a Italy Food Certification Business Development Manager to join its office in Genoa, Turin or Milan, Italy within the Mediterranean & Africa Certification Division.
Mission
The Food Business Development Manager will be instrumental in developing RINA's offering of an assigned services portfolio and/or within an assigned geographical coverage.
Key Accountabilities
1. Drive and monitor the order intake pipeline;
2. Update the pipeline with new prospects to be followed up;
3. Work across the RINA Group developing ‘cross selling’ and mutual opportunities;
4. Track competitor activity and provide updates on competitor news and intelligence;
5. Be responsible for sales and business development initiatives focused on new sales and business opportunities for the Food Market, client visits and management;
6. Explore opportunities for alliances and partnerships to explore new markets and opportunities;
7. Engage with current and potential customers to discuss and understand their needs and requirements;
8. Support our focus on customer satisfaction, repeat business and developing new markets;
9. Stay current with RINA’s current and future offerings and technology solutions, including but not limited to customer tailored tools.
Education
Master’s Degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Food Technology
Qualifications
1. Substantial experience in business development, sales, or related roles is often a key requirement. Business Development Managers may be expected to have 3-7 years or more of relevant experience.
2. Technical knowledge of the main food certification schemes (BRCGS, IFS, GLOBALG.A.P., FSSC22000), Food Product and MS certification.
3. Proficient in sales techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals. Business Development Managers should have a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
4. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and agreements with clients, partners, and vendors.
5. Analytical thinking to assess market trends, competitor activities, and performance metrics to inform decision-making.
6. In-depth knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape to make informed business decisions.
7. Familiarity with relevant technologies and tools, including CRM systems, to streamline business development processes.
