Offer Description
The PRIN 2022 PNRR DAFNE project focuses on the democratic governance of automated systems for moderating fake news, ensuring compliance with fundamental rights and democratic principles. The research, divided into three phases, includes:
1. Data collection on the systems used by online platforms (social media and e-commerce sites), analyzing public documents such as terms of use, privacy policies, and transparency reports.
2. A socio-technical study of how these systems are developed and integrated into platforms, with a focus on the stakeholders involved, technologies employed, and operational processes such as fact-checking and content removal.
3. The development of guidelines and regulatory approaches to ensure these systems uphold privacy, transparency, non-discrimination, and other democratic values.
