Institutional Bid Manager
Leaf Space is looking for an Institutional Bid Manager to support the company on funding opportunities issued by institutional organizations (e.g. space agencies, national and local Governments, European, Italian and regional organizations, etc.). These opportunities are essential in Leaf Space to support the services and product development roadmap, by providing the necessary resources and to sell its ground segment services for missions financed and/or promoted by institutional entities. In this framework, the Institutional Bid Manager is responsible for the bidding process throughout the full offer lifecycle, from opportunity identification to contract signature, with particular attention to planning and execution of the offer, managing interactions with internal departments and external partner organizations. Talks and networking with the relevant customers and stakeholders, especially from the institutional market, is crucial in relation to the objective of anticipating funding opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Identify the opportunities within the institutional market for product development financing and for selling company services.
* Manage the participation in institutional bidding opportunities, being responsible for the delivery of the proposal and coordinating the proposal team.
* Analyze, plan, and execute the offer, managing interactions with internal departments and partner organizations.
* Interact with the final customer to understand its needs and reflect those in the offer.
* Liaise with members of the bid consortium for their contribution to the proposal.
* Prepare and maintain proposal templates and keep records of documentation produced and issued in all bid phases.
* Collaborate with the administrative department for all the bureaucratic tasks involved in the bidding process and with the Program Management department for the proposal drafting.
* Guarantee compliance with company processes, customer requests, and strategic goals. More specifically, ensure deadlines are met in the following phases: Bid-No-Bid; Bid Preparation; Proposal submission on the dedicated website; Lessons learned; Negotiation.
* Collaborate with the business development and sales team dedicated to commercial customers to enhance synergies between the two areas (commercial and institutional).
* Keep the company CRM up to date for R&D funding opportunities and commercial services sales to institutional organizations.
* Monitor the market and competitor strategies to optimize the quality of offers and analyze the results of the offers presented.
* Contribute to the company service development roadmap and strategy and to the company business development, sales and marketing strategy.
Qualifications and Requirements
* University degree in Engineering, Economics, Physics, Business, Information Technologies, or other relevant disciplines. Education in the field of Aerospace/Space is preferable.
* Proactive attitude and ability to work in international teams, as well as individually.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; precision and attention to detail, coupled with excellent organizational skills.
* Proficient in Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
* Ability to manage demanding and fluctuating workloads effectively and ability to work under pressure.
* Sales-oriented attitude.
* Two to three years of working experience in business development, marketing, and sales in institutional environments, with a focus on the development of technological services (responsibilities and tasks will vary according to the level of experience).
* Knowledge of the space market and macro-economy principles.
* Knowledge of System Engineering principles and system-level knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems will be an asset.
* Excellent professional proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
* Full proficiency in the Italian language is required.
