Job Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Vehicle System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples - IT .

Accountabilities
The role will require understanding vehicle system functions and analyzing diagnostic and maintenance data with the scope to:
* Identify the cause of the fault and support the maintenance staff to repair it.
* Support the driver to manage the fault when it happens with the scope to reduce its effect on the vehicle mission.
* Improve vehicle diagnostic system functions, maintenance and dépannage procedures.
* Define requirements to develop algorithms that generate Automatic work orders to maintenance staff.
* Support design department to improve vehicle system design and functions.
* Support maintenance engineer department to improve maintenance plan and procedures.
Required Skills/Knowledge
It is our expectation that successful applicants should be able to demonstrate all of the experience and skills listed below:
* From 2 to 4 years of experience in railway vehicle systems design or vehicle maintenance engineering.
* Expert in interpreting electrical drawings, pneumatic drawings, system specification software specification and mechanical drawings.
* Understanding of RCM principles and methodology.
* Expert in railway vehicle system functions.
* Expert in analyzing and correlating data from different sources (e.g., vehicle diagnostic events, maintenance reports, etc.).
* Expert in defining maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
* Able to perform statistical analysis including quality control.
* Able to use diagnostic tools.
* Problem-solving skills.
Education/Qualifications
Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering master's degree or equivalent technical background.
Languages
Fluent knowledge of English (written & spoken).
