Role Overview
We are looking for a Corporate Finance Analyst, who will be required to work as part of an EMEA team. The candidate will be based in our office in Rome, Italy and will report to the EMEA Finance Manager.
The tasks will include (but not limited to):
1. Manage US GAAP, statutory and tax accounting and reporting for the entity in scope; ensure completeness, accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the reporting (knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles is a plus)
2. Month-end closing accounting activities (accruals, prepayments, inventory, payroll, treasury, bank, cash registers and others)
3. Manage the bank accounts reconciliation and posting.
4. Check A/R and A/P invoices ensuring compliance and accounting records.
5. Manage the balance sheet accounts reconciliation and analyze differences in the Balance Sheet between local GAAP and US GAAP
6. Support the preparation of periodic statutory and fiscal aspects closures, management of deadlines and tax obligations (e.g., VAT settlement, Esterometro, intrastat, tax deductions, etc.);
7. Ensure adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls.
8. Prepare financials and provide support during business plan, forecast and budget updates.
9. Assist in Monthly and Quarterly closings and provide narratives on deviations vs forecast and budget
10. Carry out regular business performance analysis and communicate potential risks or opportunities for meeting expected financial targets and propose recommendations and solutions.
Required skills and attributes
1. Accounting background 3-5 years experience in finance departments
2. Basic understanding of US GAAP will be an advantage
3. Experience in Financial Statements preparation
4. Strong motivation and reliability, result orientation, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, flexibility, spirit of initiative, autonomy;
5. Good familiarity with the Office package and mastery of the main IT systems; SAP knowledge is a plus;
