RINA is currently recruiting for a Software Embedded System Engineer to join its office in Rome within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division.
Mission
Rina is looking for a software embedded engineer to participate and supervise software development activities within internal projects. This position focuses on designing, developing, and verifying embedded software for avionics systems. We are looking for a technical leader that is able to:
* Collaborate with hardware engineers, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that Rina avionics systems meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
* Coordinate team activities and mentor junior members.
You will have a strong understanding as well as experience in real-time embedded systems, software development, and system integration.
Key Accountabilities
Here are the skills we are looking for:
* Software development:
o Design and implement embedded software applications for avionics systems.
o Develop software in compliance with DO-178C or similar safety-critical standards.
o Implement software requirements and design applications.
o Integrate software into target equipment.
* System design:
o Participate in the definition of system architecture and software requirements.
o Work with system engineers to allocate requirements to software components.
o Conduct trade-off analysis to determine optimal solutions.
* System integration
o Debug the embedded software onto the target equipment.
o Support the V&V team during testing and validation activities for defect analysis.
o Solve detected problems by implementing the needed corrections.
* Documentation
o Prepare and maintain software documentation in accordance with company and industry standards.
o Generate reports and documentation for regulatory compliance.
* Collaboration and communication
o Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve issues and optimize system performance.
o Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide status updates and technical assessments.
* Continuous Improvement
o Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in avionic software.
o Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency in design calculations, drafting, and engineering software.
Strong understanding of technical documentation and project management processes.
Ability to review and interpret technical documents and designs effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in field data collection and willingness to engage in fieldwork activities.
Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
Commitment to upholding safety standards and protocols.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering General
