Area Manager Lombardia On Trade
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to wholesalers, On Trade outlets, and wine shops operating in the assigned area/region. The RSM supervises the On Trade Sales Executives within their area to ensure the achievement of regional objectives and the proper people development. With strong commercial and negotiation skills, the RSM handles active selling tasks (e.g., yearly agreements, promotional plan implementation, order taking, cash collecting, scouting new business opportunities) as well as back-office tasks (e.g., order entry, budget and sales monitoring, sales forecasting). The RSM manages the assigned budget to meet qualitative and quantitative objectives regarding outlet assortment and visibility KPIs.
Key responsibilities:
* Define joint business plans with main customers to achieve long-term sustainable business growth;
* Negotiate and implement commercial actions related to the presence, distribution, and visibility of main brands to ensure value generation and market share gains;
* Oversee On Trade Outlets, Wholesalers, and wine shops to monitor performance against objectives/agreements, applying quick corrective actions when necessary;
* Manage sell-out growth levers to ensure the presence of focus brands in a sufficient number of target outlets and increase brand visibility through POS materials and drink list mentions of our brands to increase sell-out;
* Promote Transfer Orders through partner Wholesalers to expand the distribution of focus product ranges;
* Evaluate and optimize the wholesaler panel annually in the assigned area to ensure a fit-for-purpose perimeter;
* Scout new On Trade target outlets and wine shops for profitable commercial partnerships;
* Negotiate, implement, and monitor agreements with On Trade target outlets, ensuring product rotation through the right assortment and brand visibility;
* Lead a team of On Trade Executives to achieve business results in terms of revenue, assortment, and visibility KPIs at the outlet level;
* Coordinate, train, and plan tasks for the On Trade Sales Executives, ensuring their proper development and excellence in their roles;
* Implement the correct pricing strategy for customers in line with guidelines, and monitor RSP (Retail Selling Price) evolutions for our brands and direct competitors;
* Map and share competitors' activities with the Trade Marketing Team, including innovations, promotional activities, visibility efforts, and all growth levers, to maintain a comprehensive market overview;
* Evaluate sell-out activities and implement optimization actions accordingly;
* Proactively share field feedback with the Regional Sales Director (RSD) to optimize sell-out levers during periodic meetings;
* Manage back-office tasks related to sales forecasting, order management, and credit issues when required;
* Provide daily reports on visits, visit goals, outlet mapping, stock levels, and sell-out activities when available.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration or similar;
* Minimum 8 years of experience in similar positions, negotiating large accounts in FMCG companies;
* Negotiation and influence skills;
* Good knowledge of P&L management;
* Analytical thinking and excellent communication skills;
* Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint;
* Professional English.
