In collaboration with Fincantieri NexTech SpA, the Manpower group is seeking an AUTOMATION SYSTEM ENGINEER to be placed in the Genoa office.
Job Responsibilities:
The resource will be inserted as a System Engineer within the Product Development department of Fincantieri NexTech (Line of Business Maritime), which is responsible for designing and developing products and systems for automation, control, and monitoring in the naval field. They will report to the head of the Product Development area.
Activities:
The resource will mainly be involved in the following activities:
Product Development:
1. Analysis of requirements and definition of technical characteristics of automation and control products and solutions;
2. Management of the development of new automation products and solutions;
3. Preparation of technical specifications, system architectures, and devices;
4. Testing of prototype solutions;
5. Management of product/system documentation;
6. Support to the commercial department during the offer engineering phase.
In Executive Contracts:
1. Identification and analysis of the client's technical contractual requirements and analysis of regulatory requirements;
2. Design of automation and control systems through the preparation of functional technical specifications, studies, definition of system architectures, data networks, PLCs, and supervision systems;
3. Interface with clients, suppliers, and management of technical activities in coordination with resources from other technical departments, the shipyard, and the project management team.
Requirements:
1. Technical diploma in automation/electrical/electronic/computer science with at least 3-4 years of experience. Bachelor's or master's degree in electronic/computer/automation/electrical engineering.
2. Experience in the design of automation systems, configuration of control systems based on PLC or equivalent for industrial and/or naval plants/machinery/processes, sensors, and data networks.
3. Knowledge of SCADA platforms and major industrial PLC/DCS platforms (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Rockwell, Schneider, or equivalents).
4. Good knowledge of written and spoken English;
Personal characteristics such as relational skills, analytical approach, problem-solving abilities, results orientation, teamwork capability, reliability, and flexibility complete the profile.
Work Location:
Genoa with the possibility of short-term transfers to installation sites, clients, and other companies belonging to the Fincantieri NexTech Group.
