Chaberton Professionals, a division of Chaberton Partners dedicated to the research and selection of Middle Management profiles, is currently looking for a Sales Head of Commercial – Animal Nutrition for a pharmaceutical company.
The Sales Head of Commercial for Animal Nutrition will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and be responsible for overseeing the strategy, development, and management of products designed for animals, such as feed additives, supplements, or fortified foods.
Job Description:
* Create and implement business strategies for animal nutrition products.
* Identify new market opportunities and potential customers, including farmers, veterinarians, and pet owners.
* Set sales targets, budgets, and timelines for product development and launch.
* Collaborate with internal and external R&D teams to ensure products meet the nutritional needs of different animal species.
* Monitor market trends and competitor products to ensure the company's offerings are innovative and competitive .
* Work with sales and marketing teams to promote and position products in the market.
* Coordinate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
* Manage relationships with suppliers, distributors, and customers.
* Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
* Analyse sales data and customer feedback to refine product offerings and marketing strategies.
* Ensure that all products adhere to relevant regulatory standards and guidelines (e.g., FDA, AAFCO for animal feed, or other global standards).
* Develop and manage budgets for product development and marketing efforts.
* Monitor product profitability and manage costs effectively to maximize returns.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies.
* Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding the benefits and usage of animal nutrition products.
Requirements:
* 10 years plus of experience in the animal nutrition industry, including roles in product development, sales, or marketing of animal feed or supplements business development.
* Previous leadership or management roles with responsibility for strategic planning, budgeting, and team coordination.
* Proven track record in business, contract negotiation, and client acquisition within the field.
* Experience working with different animal species (e.g., livestock, poultry, pets) is a plus.
* Strong global network within the animal nutrition and agriculture industries to identify partnerships
* In-depth understanding of animal nutrition science, feed formulations, and product development processes.
* Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage staff in R&D, marketing, sales, and manufacturing.
* A Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field. An advanced degree like an MBA or a Master's in Animal Nutrition or a similar field would be an advantage.
* Proficiency in English is also required.
Location
Europe or even Worldwide. The position can be home office based with frequent travel to customers and regular visits to the international manufacturing sites.
