As Offshore Structural Designer, you will join our Department of Offshore Engineering HUB, in the business line ABSER. You will be part of the Milan Offshore 3D Modelling team. In this position you will be involved in:
* Manage on a project a team of Structural Draftsmen to carry out the structural 3D CAD model and the extraction of the structural design drawings in accordance with technical, budget and schedule targets.
* Ensure that the 3D CAD model is developed properly accounting for needs of all project functions availing of it as working tools (e.g. piping and layout engineering, weight control, material management, fabrication engineering).
Executes the activities within own area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements, performing the following main tasks:
1. Design, execute or check the typical Structural studies including:
* modelling with Tekla (or equivalent 3D CAD tool).
* 3D model reviews with other disciplines.
* design drawings for primary, secondary and tertiary structures.
* bill of materials or materials take off.
* extraction of bill of materials and other weight information from the 3D CAD model.
* developing Company standards on the basis lesson learned and fabrication yard recommendation.
- In the case of project execution:
* Write the execution and quality control procedure for the 3D modelling and design drawings in accordance with the project specifications.
* Organize the work of own team, plan and follow-up the implementation of the resources mobilization plan.
* Co-ordinate the work of own team with the structural engineers of the project.
* Check the input data and all the documents and information issued by own team.
* Keep all the stakeholders of the project informed of the modifications resulting from the work of own team.
* Check permanently that all the assumptions, upon which own teamwork is based, keep up with the project development and warn the project Structural Lead of any detected anomaly.
* Supervise the update of the documents after comments issued by other disciplines (inter-discipline checks) or external stakeholders (Client, Yards, Third party review, etc.).
* Feed the Offshore Structural Department improvement system by reverting the lessons learned during the project.
QUALIFICATION: Technical Diploma and/or master’s degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent;
KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: B2/C1
LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: permanent contract
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
· 3 years of experience for graduates; 5-6 years for diploma holders.
· Good experience in metal carpentry modelling; use of Tekla software is appreciated.
