In a z/OS context you will be responsible for managing and maintaining z/OS infrastructures within our organization. You will work closely with development, operations, and data teams to ensure Mainframe infrastructure is optimized. Your primary responsibilities will include configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of Mainframe systems and subsystems.
What you'll be doing
1. z/OS operating system, JCL and z/OS utilities
2. TSO, ISPF, DB2I and z/OS architecture fundamentals
3. Data management and SMF knowledge
4. Knowledge of job batch execution phases
5. Dataset management and access methods (sequential, partitioned, indexed, GDG)
6. Main job cards, EXEC, DD and associated parameters
7. Jobs execution and monitoring
8. JCL management to execute the main utilities
9. VSAM and IDCAMS concepts
10. Db2 fundamentals
11. Db2 environment fundamentals and Db2 requests knowledge
12. Fundamentals of relational database and Db2 objects (e.g., tables, indexes, views)
13. Structure and syntax of a SQL query
14. Operations and functions (e.g., SUM, AVG, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE)
15. Access to more tables (e.g., JOIN, UNION, SUBSELECT)
16. System tables (SYSIBM.*)
17. Performance and Db2 access statistics, explain, prefetch, primary index, etc.
18. CICS and MQ fundamentals
19. CICS environment fundamentals and CICS transaction knowledge
20. MQ environment fundamentals and MQ queue knowledge
21. Integration between CICS and MQ Series and CICS and Db2
22. z/OS, CICS, MQ and Db2 monitoring and capacity
23. Knowledge of Omegamon, Tritune tools or, in general, monitoring tools
24. Main SMF, RMF metrics (principal fields: elapsed time, CPU time and suspension time)
What you'll need to succeed
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in z/OS environment, with a proven ability to manage complex environments
