FSO System Engineer
We are seeking a talented Free-Space Optics (FSO) System Engineer to join our R&D team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-speed, long-range communication systems for both terrestrial and satellite applications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, simulation, and optimization of FSO communication systems for high performance and reliability.
* Conduct system-level trade-off analyses, optimizing parameters such as link budget, aperture size, and error correction.
* Drive research into new FSO technologies, materials, and methods to enhance system efficiency, data throughput, and signal quality.
* Develop system models and perform simulations using tools like VPI Photonics.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, integrating FSO solutions into larger communication systems.
* Develop and execute test plans for both lab and field trials to validate system performance and troubleshoot issues.
* Stay current with the latest developments in optical communication technologies.
* Contribute to technical papers, patents, and academic publications.
Required Qualifications:
* Masters degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
* Proven experience in designing and analyzing FSO or optical communication systems.
* Proficiency with system modelling and simulation tools (e.g., VPI Photonics).
* Strong knowledge of optical components (lasers, detectors, modulators) and system techniques.
* Experience with link budget analysis, optical alignment, and signal processing.
* Understanding of environmental factors affecting FSO systems (weather, turbulence, etc.).
