We have an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager to join Norgine.
The person holding this position will report to our Head of Commercial Pediatric Oncology.
Norgine seeks an engaged and strategic Key Account Manager with extensive oncology or rare disease experience to join its Oncology and Rare Diseases business unit in Italy. This role is crucial for Norgine’s strategic entry into new therapeutic areas, starting with pediatric supportive care and rare pediatric neuroblastoma scheduled for launch in 2025 and 2026. A proven track record in launching rare disease or pediatric oncology products is essential for success in this new therapeutic area. The Key Account Manager will be instrumental in establishing Norgine’s market presence in Italy, optimizing patient pathways, aligning treatment guidelines, and developing services to enhance patient access and outcomes. A robust understanding of the Italian healthcare environment, including pediatric oncology health policy, pediatric oncology and rare disease service provision, funding and reimbursement mechanisms for oncology and rare disease products at National and Local levels is essential. A broad understanding of key policies and processes is crucial.
Role Purpose:
The Key Account Manager will lead the sales and marketing efforts for Norgine’s newly introduced oncology products within specific territory in Italy (regions area). This role requires strategic sales planning, stakeholder engagement, and comprehensive market analysis, specifically in the context of launching oncology products to effectively introduce and establish Norgine’s products in complex healthcare settings. Proven rare disease or oncology (ideally pediatric) launch experience is critical for this role.
Launch Execution and Strategic Sales Planning:
1. Develop and execute in-depth sales strategies using an omnichannel approach that align with overall business objectives, including customer target setting, sales planning, and action planning in agreement with the Head of Business Unit.
2. Draw from your success in previous launches to develop regional account plans that will enable the effective introduction and establishment of pediatric oncology products.
3. Work closely with cross-functional territory colleagues, owning the development and implementation of integrated account plans to maximise territory sales and achieve performance KPIs in the territorial area of interest.
Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy:
1. Forge strong relationships with healthcare decision-makers and influencers, in the territorial area of interest, advocating for Norgine products through individual meetings, group discussions, and presence at medical congresses.
2. Utilise existing relationships within the pediatric oncology field to advocate for Norgine products to accelerate launch.
3. Implement scientific projects to help establish Norgine as a trusted partner in oncology and improve patient outcomes.
4. Identify and lead local projects to help establish Norgine as a trusted partner in oncology and improve patient outcomes.
5. Manage events and support congresses, including initiation, planning, and implementation of events with or for customers.
Market Penetration and Growth:
1. Achieve sales targets and maximize use of your portfolio through effective promotion and customer engagement strategies, ensuring product accessibility and inclusion in hospital formularies across your territory and secure new and existing oncology business opportunities on territory to drive demand.
Pathway and Service Development:
1. Drive the development and implementation of services that support the integration of Norgine’s products into local healthcare systems, improving treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.
2. Secure favourable positioning of Norgine products, ensuring patient access for all eligible patients.
3. Work collaboratively with healthcare providers to review and optimise paediatric oncology and rare disease patient pathways and treatment guidelines, developing tailored solutions in alignment with the latest clinical guidelines and best practices, ensuring swift and efficient patient access to new therapies.
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration:
1. Engage regularly with field-based medical teams to ensure alignment on product knowledge, market strategies, and customer engagement techniques.
2. Cross-functional collaboration with medical, marketing, PR, market access, and other functions.
Compliance and Conduct:
1. Adhere strictly to local legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements, aligning with Norgine’s code of conduct and standard operating procedures to ensure all activities meet the highest standards of compliance and integrity.
2. Ensure budget control and monitoring of local activities.
Experience Requirements:
1. Demonstrated success in specialty pharmaceutical sales with a minimum of 3 years recent experience in launching rare disease or oncology (ideally pediatric) products.
2. Extensive experience in launching new oncology or rare disease products environment and a deep understanding of the Italian healthcare system, including knowledge of key policy and processes.
3. Established network and relationships within the pediatric oncology healthcare community in Italy is highly desirable.
Educational Qualifications:
1. Degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or a related field.

1. Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Skilled in analysing complex data to develop strategic sales initiatives.
2. Leadership and Influence: Strong leadership capabilities to motivate cross functional teams and influence key stakeholders.
3. Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising effectively under pressure.
4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills essential for articulating complex information and fostering strong professional relationships.
