The Role: Retail Merchandiser & Buyer
At Stone Island we are always looking for people who share our spirit and values to drive our company forward. We are currently looking for an engaged and passionate Retail Merchandiser & Buyer who can join the Retail Merchandising Team at the Stone Island HQ in Milan.
As part of the Retail Merchandising Team, the candidate will have the opportunity to join a team focused on different and exciting projects, ensuring the smooth running of all activities. You will be responsible for constantly monitoring the business performance, being constantly up to date and informed on market changes and client needs, analysing and presenting the best strategies that will maximize the sales performance.
Your Impact
* Market intelligence: consolidate inputs from regions of competence on business trends, competitor offer, and product needs;
* Buying activities: Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to define assortment ensuring a balanced product mix, aligning with Retail and Collection Merchandising on the key seasonal messages and core product selection;
* Gather product feedback and market needs to exploit business opportunities; conduct qualitative analysis on a daily base and elaborate and share inputs in terms of visual merchandising and merchandising relocation;
* Inventory activities: Cooperate with allocation team on stock level optimization across stores to maximize sales; analyse selling trends highlighting actions on reorders; constantly monitor supply and slow movers;
* Research and continuous update on business trend, competitor offer and product needs;
* Execute the training on buying investments to stores, guaranteeing the full understanding of the collection and strategy.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in economics, Enterprise Management or Management Engineering.
* A previous experience (minimum 3 years) gained in similar roles is essential, within fashion and luxury industries;
* Comfortable in building ranges based on store profile, visualising product selections and past sales performance;
* Experience preferably in menswear in luxury retailers and solid product knowledge and strong luxury feeling;
* Analytical mindset and ability to identify new product initiatives;
* Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
* Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and excellent critical thinking abilities.
* Fluency in English, an additional language is a plus;
