We are seeking for the Europe Region a detail-oriented and experienced IT Systems Engineer to join our Europe IT team in our new IT Infrastructure Competency center in Asti, Italy.
In this role, you will be the key person in the design and implementation of a dedicated OT Core System infrastructure aligned with Cybersecurity requirements (according with NIST framework), you will also manage and maintain the on-premise IT Core systems (i.e. hypervisors, Windows and non-windows servers, etc.) to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
You will collaborate closely with other IT teams and business colleagues to understand their requirements and implement/link efficient system configurations.
The ideal candidate has a strong expertise in systems and server configuration tools, with the knowledge of bridging the gaps between Applications and Operating systems and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
Your responsibilities will be to:
1. Design, implement, and maintain European on-premise IT and OT servers based on business requirements, industry best practices, and security guidelines.
2. OS management, from hypervisor to Operating System point of view – managing the correct performances, configurations, licensing, etc.
3. Patch Management : Follow the patch management strategies to keep IT and OT Core systems up to date with the latest security patches, bug fixes, and updates. Test and deploy patches using automated deployment tools in coordination with Manufacturing constraints and schedules.
4. Servers Security : Implement security measures and configurations to protect IT and OT core systems against malware, unauthorized access, and data breaches. Ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations (i.e. TISAX, ISO27001, etc.)
5. Performance Optimization : Analyze and optimize IT and OT Core systems configurations to enhance performance, boot times, and resource utilization. Identify and resolve configuration-related performance issues.
6. System Monitoring and Reporting : Monitor IT and OT Core Systems configurations, track performance metrics, and generate reports on configuration compliance, software inventory, hardware configurations, etc.
7. Backup Management of the on-prem IT and OT Core Systems infrastructure and servers, manage data and applications availability within the agreed SLAs.
8. Manage the High availability of IT and OT Core systems, with the support of the company management.
9. Documentation and Training : Create detailed documentation, configuration guides, and user manuals. Provide training and knowledge transfer to support teams and business users.
10. Collaboration and Support : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network administrators, system administrators, and security teams, to ensure seamless integration and support for IT and OT Core System configurations.
Our requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
2. Knowledge in Industry and related IT and OT Infrastructure processes and standards for the Manufacturing and Engineering areas.
3. Proven experience as a Core IT Systems Engineer or in a similar role focused on Core IT Systems configuration.
4. Strong knowledge of MS Windows Servers/Linux and Hyper-V/ESX operating systems and their configuration options.
5. Strong knowledge of core systems backup software.
6. Solid understanding of network protocols, Active Directory, and domain environments.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex configuration issues (Knowledge of 8D, QRQC, PDCA, A3 or any other problem-solving methodology).
8. Excellent documentation and communication skills.
9. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft or VMware Certified: are a plus.
